Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified
  • fscDisc Graphics became FSC certified in 2007.
  • The Forest Stewardship Council is an organization established to promote responsible management of the world’s forests.  All certified forests must comply with the FSC’s rules to ensure that these forests are being run in the most environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable way.
  • Being FSC certified shows that you comply with the highest social and environmental standards on the market.  The FSC logo is recognized throughout the world.
  • Certification provides assurance that Disc Graphics has the process controls to stand behind the FSC policies and standards.  If the logo is found on the product, this confirms that only FSC certified paper was used.

“Our receipt of FSC certification reflects our ongoing program of providing eco-friendly packaging solutions to our customers.” – John Rebecchi, Senior Vice President

Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • gmp.gifCurrent Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) are rules set forth by the FDA to govern the process of manufacturing pharmaceuticals.
  • The Disc Graphics GMP program is a critical part of our quality assurance system and is constructed to comply with the applicable regulations and requirements as set forth in 21 Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 210 and 211.
  • The regulations state the “manufacture, processing, packing, or holding of a drug product includes packaging and labeling operations, testing and quality control of drug products”.  Disc Graphics’ procedures comply with the FDA regulations.
  • The essence of GMP is accountability and batch control. We assure that our processes account for production requirements and that all components are accounted for at the beginning, middle and end of the manufacturing process.
  • paper rollsWaste control, sanitation, maintenance and pest control are also key elements in our cGMP’s.
  • An integral part of our cGMP program was the development of a system of “compensating controls” that virtually eliminates the risk of cross contamination. Such compensating controls offset or counter-balance any risk in achieving product integrity. These include:
    • Glue Line Scanners that read bar codes printed inside the glue flap
    • Count reconciliation at the beginning and end of each process
    • Pallet identification throughout the manufacturing cycle
    • Glue line segregation and identification to assure proper carton labeling

“Not just for pharmaceuticals, it [cGMP’s] also raises the level of quality assurance for all our markets.” – Margaret Krumholz, President

International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
  • International Organization for Standardization, or ISO, develops a system of standards that make the development, manufacturing and supply of products and services more efficient, safer and cleaner.
  • The ISO 9000 family of standards addresses quality management.  ISO 9001:2000 specifies requirements where the organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products that meet customer and regulatory requirements, and to show their dedication to constantly improving their services in regard to customer satisfaction.
Disc Graphics, Inc. received ISO 9000-2000 certification in 2004.
