Renewable Choice Energy
Renewable Choice Energy is a Colorado-based firm that is building the market for clean, renewable sources of energy. Their services range from providing carbon offset credits to sponsoring large scale, on-site wind power farms.
DISC is currently purchasing 575,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) in the form of blended energy from Renewable Choice Energy to meet approximately 20% of its annual power requirements.
Based on national average utility sub-region emissions rates, the EPA estimates that DISC’s “green” power purchase is equivalent to avoiding the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of more than 65 passenger cars each year, or avoiding the equivalent CO2 emissions associated with over 40,000 gallons of gasoline annually.
