Reds

Problem/Objective
The 25th anniversary edition of the landmark film, “Reds,” is a high-profile re-release of this encore performance. Packaging for the DVD presentation required an elegant look and feel for a collectors’ quality edition.

Solution
We started with a double-wall, side load slipcase, printed in 7-colors, overall matte UV and spot gloss UV coating. To create a rich, vibrant color in the title treatment, Disc Graphics recommended a double strength PMS 185 red, followed by embossing. Silver foil stamping gives sparkle to the principal cast names and photo border. The embedment sheet in the case cover is printed 6-colors on silver foil paper, which presents the graphics in a duotone quality representative of the era. The result was a highly visible package for a high profile film.
