Partnering with our clients, our step-by-step process takes you through the complex realm of environmentally-friendly possibilities.

Step 1: Define your objectives (every process begins with knowing where we want to end up)
Stating your objectives in terms of your environmental strategy gives us the direction we need to initiate our eco-design program. If you’re uncertain, we’ll work with you to define the objectives. These might include concepts such as source reduction (decreasing the amount of materials or energy consumed), recyclability of the package, or sustainability (use of resources to avoid damaging them, or contributing to their permanent depletion.

Step 2: Create package attributes that match the objectives (operationalize the objectives)
Knowing the objectives will allow us to design packaging using suitable materials and appropriate manufacturing processes. We consider other elements, including product and package lifecycles, distribution and sales channels, and potential consumer value perception.

Working with existing packaging, we apply The 3 R’s: Rethink / Resize / Reconstruct... it’s all about challenging conventional packaging ideas and exploring eco-friendly possibilities.

Step 3: Measure the results (environmental and package-performance objectives)
Calculating environmental metrics to demonstrate the eco-effectiveness of the design is critical. Our Eco-Resources Coordinator and design team will deliver solutions that match your environmental objectives, and the accountability to support it.

In support of Disc Graphics’ environmental mission statement, “Moving Eco-Consciousness Into Action,” we have received FSC Certification and manufacture with Renewable Energy.
